Lore
Optional for Khedama creation, but fun!
Khedama are forest spirits made of solid light. Their fur is made of loose particles, which appear white due to reflected light. They cast a dim glow that is especially visible in the dark, leading to the occasional comparison to ghosts or wills-o'-the-wisp.

A typical specimen is around 4 feet tall (122cm), however especially small and tall Khedama are known to exist.A face of a Khedama is reflective of its environment. While a Khedama will typically keep the same face for its entire life, over the course of generations the faces of Khedama will adjust accordingly. For example, a Khedama's face may appear similar to nearby species (such as gaining physical eyes & a mouth if born into a human civilization) or reflect the culture and/or language (such as an X for a face). There are two types of eyes & mouths: physical and false. Some Khedama lack eyes or mouths entirely and will function the same as those with false eyes & mouths.Physical eyes & mouths work as expected, like any other eye or mouth. Unlike false eyes, physical eyes can be damaged and blinded.False eyes & mouths give the appearance of eyes & mouths, but remain flat on the surface of the face. Some are capable of emoting. Somehow, a Khedama born with false eyes or without eyes entirely is still able to see. Khedama with false or no mouths strangely eat by passing the food through their face, as if by osmosis...
Many Khedama have innate abilities that they can harness with time & effort. Many of these abilities would be considered "magical" by humans. If these abilities are elemental, a Khedama will typically only have one element.
Some Khedama are capable of manipulating their very essence. Typically this will only include minor shapeshifting of limbs, however total shape manipulation is possible.Something to keep in mind is that a Khedama cannot create more than what it has. Sprouting extra limbs may make them shorter or internally hollow. Dividing into clones will make each copy smaller.

The following section depicts Khedama injury, blood, & death.
Please proceed with caution.
Khedama typically have an accelerated healing factor, and can heal even the gravest injuries with time. However, their ability to heal is tied to their emotional state. An emotionally healthy Khedama with good support can heal rather quickly, while a traumatized Khedama may never heal at all.
A Khedama with markings is typically a Khedama that has been injured, whether physically or mentally. In these areas the fur is thinner, allowing their inner light to shine through. These markings may fade over time or actively persist throughout their life. They may also only appear in situations relating to the markings themselves.

A Khedama's blood is essentially liquid light. While fluid, it will act exactly like human blood. The only exception is that it glows. Instead of drying, it will dissipate into the air.

The corpse of a Khedama does not persist for long. Much like their blood, their body will dissolve into light and dissipate once the Khedama has died.
